Extensive legal experience:  A graduate of the Yale Law School (1978), Ed Honnold practiced law in Washington, D.C. for 14 years.  He clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; litigated commercial and international claims with a major Washington, D.C. law firm; served as Legislative Director for a Member of Congress; and specialized in international affairs as Attorney-Advisor for the U.S. Agency for International Development.  Ed is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and of the D.C. Bar’s Law Practice Management Section.

Professional counseling experience:  Ed Honnold pursued a career change in 1992 with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, and he is currently a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in private practice in Washington, D.C., as well as a lawyer.  With unique dual professional degrees and licensure, Ed Honnold has been in private practice for the past 18 years as a career consultant and psychotherapist specializing in professional and personal issues of lawyers.  Ed Honnold’s long-established consulting practice for lawyers is located three blocks from the White House in downtown Washington, D.C.
